Off the Court:
- Summer Intern with White Labs, a company that produces yeast strains for beer, wine, and spirits, as well as performs analytical work on fermented products; involved performing experiments on yeast as well as learning about multiple laboratory analytical procedures
- Researcher in Dana Small''s lab located in the J.B Pierce Lab working on a project that measured the difference in metabolic responses between the consumption of liquid and solid calories; research can help highlight the harmful effects of sugar sweetened beverages
- Volunteer with Special Olympics Unified Sports, an organization that connects special needs kids with sports teams in the local area and have brought kids to Yale volleyball, hockey, and basketball games (among others) to both watch and meet the team afterward
Before Yale: Played for La Jolla Country Day School and the San Diego Volleyball Club... Helped lead her La Jolla to two straight California Division IV championships as a starting outside hitter in 2009 and 2010... Awarded the California State CIF Sportsmanship Award in 2009 and 2010... Named Academic Player of the Year by the San Diego Union Tribune in 2010... Two-time First Team All Section for San Diego County... MVP of the Nike Tournament of Champions... Silver medalist with the USA A2 Junior High Performance Team... Her 2010 LJCD team was ranked eighth in the country.
