Abby Quinn, who first joined Yale Athletics as an intern in 2020, returned to the department in 2021 as an assistant strength & conditioning coach. She was promoted to the Associate Director of Sports Performance in March 2024 and then elevated to the Director of Sports Performance and Student-Athlete Innovation in July 2024.
In her roles at Yale, Quinn has worked with football, men's and women's basketball, volleyball, gymnastics, women's soccer, and women's tennis. Between her tenures at Yale, she served as an assistant strength coach at Notre Dame. While with the Fighting Irish, she assisted with all Olympic sports including women's basketball and was the strength training coach for the men's and women's swimming teams.

She is certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (CSCS), has her USAW L-1 coaching certificate and holds the NASM Corrective Exercise Specialist certification.
A native of Erie, Pa., Quinn attended Gannon University (Pa.) and was a member of the water polo team. She graduated from Gannon in 2018 with a degree in sport and exercise science with a minor in psychology. She went on to earn a graduate degree from Gannon in applied exercise science with a specialized focus in strength and conditioning in 2020. While working towards her master's degree, Quinn worked as a strength graduate assistant coach for Gannon's women's basketball team as well as taking on a strength internship in the NBA G-League for the Erie Bayhawks, affiliated with the New Orleans Pelicans.Â
