Andrew Whitley, the former All-Centennial Conference goalie andWesleyan assistant coach, joined the Yale staff in the fall of2006. Whitley, who served as Wesleyan's defensive coordinator from1997-2000, came to the Bulldogs after four seasons (2003-06) as anassistant at Hopkins School, where he helped the Hilltoppers wintheir first ever conference title in 2006. He was named FairchesterAthletic Association Assistant Coach of the Year in 2005 and earnedthe Sportsmanship Award from the Connecticut Lacrosse OfficialsAssociation that same season. At Wesleyan, Whitley helped his teamqualify for two ECAC tournaments while working with the defense andgoaltenders. Whitley also coordinated the New EnglandIntercollegiate Lacrosse Association weekly polls and post-seasonall-star teams from 1999-2004. He attended both Alfred Universityand Franklin & Marshall College, earning the Diplomat Award forcharacter and leadership in 1996 from the latter. Whitley, whoearned his degree in sociology from F&M in 1996, was a two-timeall-conference selection and played in the 1993, 1994 and 1995 NCAATournaments. Whitley, who lives in Norwalk with his wife, SallyFreedman, is a managing partner in a small investment companycalled Ankeny Homes, LLC.
