In June 2020, Yale University Athletics announced the hiring of Danielle Upham as its Associate Athletic Director for Facilities & Operations. Upham joins the Bulldogs after recent stints at the XL Center, University of Hartford and University of Connecticut. Upham was promoted to Senior Associate Athletic Director for Facilities & Operations in July 2023. Â

Upham oversees all of Yale’s athletic facilities and operations for its 35 varsity sports programs. She also serves as the sports supervisor for Yale men’s ice hockey and women's lacrosse programs.Â

Prior to joining Yale, Upham served as the Director of Events for Spectra Venue Management where she oversaw game operations at the XL Center for UConn basketball and ice hockey as well as the Hartford Wolfpack.

Upham also held an Associate AD title at Hartford prior to the XL Center for over a year, overseeing facilities, events and operations. There she served as a sport administrator for men’s basketball, men’s lacrosse, men’s and women’s golf, and women’s volleyball.  While with the Hawks, Upham oversaw the planning, organizing, and management of all capital projects including an athletic wellness center renovation, a new track and field complex, and other athletic capital improvements. She also managed a million-dollar flood recovery project in addition to renovations of several athletic facility spaces Her responsibilities at Hartford also included budget oversight, personnel management, and the creation and implementation of deferred maintenance and emergency actions plans. On the conference level, Upham served on the Championships & Competitions Committee.Â

A 2012 UConn graduate with a bachelor of science in sport management, Upham has many Husky ties. She returned to Storrs in 2014 as Assistant Director of Event Management and was promoted just two years later.  During her time in this role, she oversaw and coordinated all event management operations for 24 intercollegiate athletic programs and all NCAA and conference tournaments at multiple on-campus and off-campus venues. In addition, she served as the primary event manager for Football, and Men’s & Women’s Basketball. She obtained her master’s degree in sports management from UConn in 2016.

Upham also has facilities and operations experience at LSU where she worked as a graduate assistant from 2013-14 in addition to time as an Assistant Director of Facilities & Operations at Bryant University the prior athletic year.

Upham is member of College Events and Facility Management Association (CEFMA), the National Center for Spectator Sports Safety & Security (NCS4) and Women Leaders in College Sports.
