Jake Friedman

Jake Friedman joined the Yale athletic medicine department as an assistant athletic trainer in the fall of 2021. He works primarily with heavyweight crew and men’s ice hockey.
 
Friedman was a physical therapist for the NHL’s Washington Capitals from 2011 to 2017 while also working at Pivot Physical Therapy in the D.C. area. He then worked at MedStar Health Physical Therapy and with Washington-Liberty High School in Arlington, Va., before joining the Bulldogs. He also worked with George Washington’s baseball and women’s rowing teams earlier this year.
 
Friedman is a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Sports Physical Therapy. He earned his bachelor's degree in exercise and sport science with a concentration in athletic training (psychology double major) from UNC in 2007. He earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy from UConn in 2011. His certifications include SFMA Level 1 and 2, FMS Level 1, Functional Dry Needling and Blood Flow Restriction Therapy.

Originally from Glastonbury, Conn., Friedman is married to Rochelle Friedman and has two daughters.
