Jamie Lord began working at Yale in 1985 as an assistant at David S. Ingalls Rink with the help of legendary Yale coach Tim Taylor.
Lord, a Natick, Mass., native like Taylor, played junior hockey before skating for four years at the University of New Haven. After graduating with a degree in sociology, he got a call from Taylor asking if he would be interested in working at Ingalls.
The former Chargers star served as an assistant coach for the Yale Women’s Hockey Team for three seasons under Peter Downey, while also working as a rink assistant. Lord became a member of the Yale’s unionized staff in 1991.
