Jason Strong joined Yale Athletics in June 2018 and was promoted to Senior Associate Director of Athletics for Compliance and Student-Athlete Development in July of 2022. His responsibilities include oversight of the Athletics Compliance Office, education and monitoring, amateurism, recruiting processes and waiver requests of Ivy League and NCAA regulations.

His role also includes oversight of the student-athlete development area. He is responsible for coordination of resources and programming for the improved development and support of student-athletes.

Strong has sport oversight over Yale's gymnastics, men's & women''s squash and women's crew programs and serves as a member of Yale Athletics' Education & Workshops Committee.

Prior to Yale, Strong served as the assistant athletic director for compliance at Oregon State University from 2014-2018. His responsibilities at OSU included education and monitoring, personnel, amateurism, recruiting processes, playing and practice season schedules, and writing waiver requests at both the Pac-12 Conference and NCAA levels.

Strong spent four years as the director of compliance at Boston University of the Patriot League from 2010-2014.  While at Boston University, Strong helped the Terriers’ transition from the America East Conference to the Patriot League. He was responsible for all NCAA and league compliance interpretations.

Prior to his stint at Boston he worked the 2009-10 academic year at Cal State-Bakersfield, where he assisted the school in its move from Division II to Division I.

The Boise, Idaho, native earned his bachelor’s of arts degree in sports management from Washington State University in 2006 where he served as a manager for the men’s basketball team. 

Following graduation, he worked for a year at his alma mater in the compliance office. In 2009, Strong earned his master's in education at the University of California, Berkeley, while working in the compliance office as a graduate assistant.
