Jessica Raniero joined the Yale Athletics Medicine staff in September 2023 as an associate athletic trainer. In her role, she oversees men’s basketball and women’s crew.
Prior to joining Yale, Jessica worked at American International College (AIC) where she served as the primary athletic trainer for football, wrestling, men’s volleyball, and women’s triathlon. She served on AIC’s CARE (Concerns, Assessment, Referral, and Education) team and was part of AIC’s Sports Nutrition Team which provides nutritional education for athletics.
She also spent time at West Seneca Senior High School in West Seneca, New York where she was the sole athletic trainer. During her time at West Seneca West, she was part of the 2017 NY State Class A Football Championship Team and the 2018 NY State Federation Hockey Championship Runner-up team. She also coached Girls Varsity Lacrosse.
A 2012 graduate of Mercyhurst University in Erie, PA she played Division II women’s lacrosse for the Lakers while earning her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training and her Master of Science in Organizational Leadership. She served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer and equipment manager for the Division I Mercyhurst women’s ice hockey team until 2013 before providing medical services at Mercyhurst Northeast, an NJCAA school, until 2015.
She is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Additionally, she is certified as a Performance Enhancement Specialist and a Certified Nutrition Coach. She is also certified in Integrative Dry Needling and B-Strong Blood Flow Restriction.
