Joe Herman joined the Yale Athletics staff in August of 2026. He works with the men's and women's fencing teams and the football team.
Prior to joining the Bulldogs, Herman was a graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach at Lincoln Memorial University from 2024 to 2026. He directed year-round training for men's basketball, women's cheer, cross country, field hockey, men's lacrosse, track and field, men's volleyball and wrestling. Herman also served as a strength and conditioning intern for the University of Delaware from 2024 to 2026. There, he planned and executed training sessions for men's basketball, men's lacrosse, women's lacrosse, women's rowing, women's soccer, women's track and field, women's volleyball.
Herman's previous experience also includes a stint on the football sports performance staff at Maine from July to December of 2023.
Herman earned his Bachelor of Science degree in exercise science from King's College in 2023. He earned a Master of Business Administration with a focus in sport management from Lincoln Memorial in 2026.
