Kalus Murphy joined Kevin Cahill’s staff as an assistant coach working with the cornerbacks in April 2026.
Murphy came to the Bulldogs from North Central College, where he served on the coaching staff working with safeties and contributed in multiple capacities across the program. During his tenure with the Cardinals, he also held recruiting coordination responsibilities and played a key role in the development of a talented defensive backs unit.
At North Central, Murphy helped coach several standout safeties, including Julian Bell, Zach Orr, Will Vernon, Eddie Schmid, and Brayden Garrigan. Under his guidance, Bell and Garrigan earned D3football.com All-Region honors, while Bell also received recognition as both a D3football.com and Associated Press All-American.
Prior to North Central, Murphy built his coaching background with stops at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), where he served as quarterbacks coach after playing three seasons as a quarterback for the Engineers. He also worked as a defensive intern at the University at Albany, gaining experience coaching safeties.
In 2022, Murphy was selected for the National Football League Bill Walsh Fellowship, serving as a quarterbacks intern with the Baltimore Ravens.
A native of Silver Spring, Maryland, Murphy earned his Bachelor of Science degree in psychological science from RPI.
