Kim Mathias

Kim Mathias

Kim Mathias, who has been with the Bulldogs since 2003 as anassistant coach, was promoted to associate head coach for the2008-09 season. Mathias works primarily with Yale's defense.

During Mathias' tenure, the Bulldogs have won 87 games andset the school record for wins in a season (16 in 2004-05).

Mathias began her coaching career as a volunteer assistant atUnion in 2003. Prior to that she played forward and defense forProvidence, graduating with a degree in finance in 2002. Shecaptained the Friars to an ECAC Eastern Championship her senioryear and won the team's Unsung Hero Award in 1999-2000. Shefinished her career with 42 goals and 63 assists, leading the teamin assists twice (22 in 2001-02 and 17 in 1999-2000).

Mathias also played in the USA Hockey Women's National Festivalin the summers of 1999 and 2000. She is an Albany, N.Y., native andcurrently resides in Hamden, Conn.
