Kristen (Habbel) Barrett joined the Yale Athletic Department as Assistant Director of Creative Content and Digital Strategy in November of 2023.
She comes to Yale from Rutgers where she was a graphic design assistant for two years. Her responsibilities at Rutgers included all graphic design needs for assigned sports and departments that ranged from social media, internal presentations, apparel, facility design, and print work. In addition, she assisted with the overall social strategy for RU Athletics on Instagram and TikTok.
Before Rutgers, Barrett served as an Assistant Director of Athletic Communications at Sacred Heart. She led the department's social media strategy and handled media requests and needs for assigned sports.
Barrett is a 2018 graduate of Johnson & Wales where she was a member of the women’s basketball team. She earned a master’s degree in business administration from Bryant University in 2021.
A Philadelphia native, Barrett resides in Milford with her husband Tom, and two cats Rocky and Maxey.
