Lauren Taylor joined the Yale coaching staff in the Fall of2008. She is one of the most decorated women's lacrosse players inYale history, having earned three All-America selections whileleading the Bulldogs to a 43-22 record and one NCAA Tournamentappearance over the past four seasons. "I have come to know Laurenover the last few months and am excited to have her join thistalented coaching staff," said Anne Phillips, Yale's Joel E.Smilow, Class of 1954 Head Coach of Women's Lacrosse. "I am lookingforward to having her share her skill and tremendous knowledge ofthe game with a new generation of Yalies. She knows exactly what itis takes to succeed as a student-athlete at Yale. Her new role ascoach will allow her to continue to contribute to the proudtradition of the Yale Women's Lacrosse program." Taylor finishedher career with 198 goals and 246 points, placing second to TracyBall '81 on Yale's all-time lists in both categories. She receivedthe Nellie Elliot Award as the top senior female student-athlete atYale last spring. Taylor was a first team All-Ivy League selectionfor the fourth straight year in 2008, becoming just the fourthplayer in league history to accomplish that feat. She won theBarbara Bowditch Award as Yale's team MVP for the second straighttime, leading the Bulldogs with 41 goals and 59 points. This wasthe fourth straight season she has led Yale in both of thosecategories. Taylor, who was named ESPN The Magazine AcademicAll-District for the second time this year, received her B.A. inhistory of science/history of medicine this past spring.
