Leo Boucher

Leo Boucher joined the Yale athletics staff in September 2023 as an assistant coach for the coed and women's sailing teams.

Over the past several years, Boucher has coached high school sailing at the Annapolis Yacht Club in Maryland and served as the head laser sailing coach at the Severn Sailing Association. Additionally, Boucher has provided race and technical support to professional sailors in various classes on the Chesapeake Bay. He is also a member of the U.S. Sailing’s Olympic Development Team.

In February 2024, Boucher competed in the United States Olympic trials for Paris 2024 in the men's single-handed discipline. He finished the regatta in second place, only six points behind the leader, and had the least amount of total points before accounting for dropped races.

Boucher earned a bachelor’s degree from St. Mary’s College of Maryland in economics and international language last spring. He also had great success as a four-year skipper for the Seahawks, earning ICSA All-America honors as a senior.

He also runs a small coaching and consulting high performance sailing training program, LWB Sailing, and he is also active with the Annapolis Yacht Club Foundation, where he helps to raise money for their junior sailing outreach program.
