Lucy Beecroft returns to Yale as an assistant coach for the Bulldogs’ squash programs after an accomplished career as both a collegiate and professional squash player.

A four-year varsity student-athlete at Yale from 2016-20, Beecroft was a four-time All-American and All-Ivy selection and served as team captain during her senior season. She led the Bulldogs to a third-place finish at the College Squash Association National Team Championships in 2020. Beecroft also earned Yale scholar-athlete honors during her senior season while earning a B.A. in Psychology.

Following her graduation, Beecroft embarked on a professional career on the Professional Squash Association (PSA) World Tour. She reached a career-best world ranking of No. 20, winning five PSA titles and reaching nine finals. She was the runner-up at the 2022 British National Championships and helped Team England capture the European Team Championship in 2022. She has also represented England at the World Team Championships.

Beecroft has also gained extensive coaching experience, including with Bee Squash at The St. James in Springfield, Va., and as a summer squash camp counselor and coach at Pinnacle Squash at Yale. She has coached junior players in practice, match play and tournament settings, including at U.S. Junior Nationals and U.S. Junior Gold events. She also served as a squash camp counselor and coach at Princeton University.

Prior to her collegiate career, Beecroft represented England at the European and World Junior Squash Championships from 2008-16 and was ranked No. 1 in England at every junior age group.

Beecroft earned an M.Sc. in Health Psychology from the University of Nottingham in 2022.
