Yale

Matthew Jessen joined the Yale volleyball staff as an assistant coach in August 2026 following a successful tenure as the head coach of Manhattanville’s women’s and men’s volleyball programs.

During the 2025-26 academic year, Jessen led the Manhattanville women’s team to the 2025 Skyline Conference Championship while guiding the women’s and men’s programs to a combined 20-5 record in conference play. He coached the Skyline Conference Women’s Player and Rookie of the Year, while his men’s team reached the Skyline Conference Championship match for the first time in program history and featured two all-conference selections.

Prior to Manhattanville, Jessen served as an assistant coach at Sacred Heart University in 2024. He also gained coaching experience with NOVA Volleyball, Quinnipiac Club Volleyball and Fairfield Ludlowe High School from 2021 through 2023.

Jessen graduated from the University of Connecticut in 2023 with a degree in history.
