Peter Palacios, Jr., who has successfully managed several historic golf clubs across the country, was named the General Manager of the Yale Golf Course in late August of 2020.
Palacios comes to Yale from the Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Golf and Country Club where he served as General Manager/COO. During his nearly 20-month tenure, the club increased the membership base by 25-percent. Additionally, through the first six months of the year, the club is $140,000 ahead in revenue as compared to its 2019 timeline. The Eau Claire Country Club, one of the premier private clubs in western Wisconsin, was founded in 1899.Â
Prior to Eau Claire, Palacios was the General Manager/COO of the Casper Country Club in Casper, Wyoming, where he produced a $97k positive turnaround within the first three fiscal quarters.Â
Â
Palacios joined the Casper club after serving as the South Texas Regional Manager for Foresight Golf Management for seven years, overseeing three courses – Oso Beach Golf Course, Lozano Golf Center and the Max A. Mandel Golf Course – under the direction of Foresight Golf and the city of Corpus Christi.Â
Â
Palacios also has experience as the General Manager/COO of the Scenic Hills Country Club in Pensacola, Florida and the Raveneaux Country Club in Houston, Texas. His professional career began as the Assistant General Manager/Director of Golf at the Laredo Country Club in Texas.
Â
Palacios is a 1994 graduate of St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sport Science and a business minor. At St. Mary’s, he was a member of the men’s golf team, winning the NAIA District IV title in 1992 and 1993. As a senior, he was named Outstanding Male Athlete of the Year and was a three-time Most Valuable Golfer Award recipient. He was also named All-District three times, was team captain all three years of his career and was a NAIA National Collegiate Golf Tournament participant his junior and senior years.Â
Â
He was inducted into the St. Mary’s Athletic Hall of Fame in the Class of 2004.
Â

Â
Palacios’ fit with Yale extends past the golf course as he has long been a supporter and participant in the Be The Match program. Palacios was notified in September 1999 of being a compatible match for a non-family member through the National Bone Marrow registry. In October of 1999 he successfully became a bone marrow donor through the South Texas Blood & Tissue Center in San Antonio, Texas.
