Ricardo Lopez, who became the third player in University of Rochester squash history to earn the prestigious Skillman Award from the CSA in 2019, is a new volunteer coach for the Yale Squash Team.

The native of Aguascalientes, Mexico, was a first-team All-Liberty League selection who reached the semifinals of the Molloy bracket in the national individual championships. Lopez captained the team his senior year, the same year that Rochester made it to its first-ever No. 1 ranking. He also reached the semifinals of the US Squash Intercollegiate Doubles Championships.

Currently a member of the PSA Tour, Lopez also competes in the Squash Doubles Association.

His junior career including playing for his country’s national team where he earned three medals at the 2010 Pan American Championships, including team gold, doubles silver and a bronze for individual play.
