True Sweetser joined the swimming & diving staff in October 2025 as an Assistant Coach.
A top-tier distance freestyle swimmer, Sweetser had an impressive four-year career at Stanford, where he earned multiple All-American honors and set school records in the 1,000- and 1,650-yard freestyle events. He represented Team USA at the 2017 World Championships after winning the 1,500-meter freestyle at the Phillips 66 Nationals. Additionally, he is a silver medalist at the Pan American Games. The Gainesville, Florida native received his Bachelor's Degree in History from Stanford in June 2022, and went on to earn his Master's in Russian, Eastern European, and Eurasian Studies in September 2022. He's currently working on a Ph.D. in History at Yale.
