Zeke Horowitz grew up in Sarasota, Fla. where hequickly took to sailing and began racing in the Optimist Class atthe age of nine. His Optimist racing took him all over the worldand inspired his passion for sailing and the camaraderie that comeswith the sport. He continued on to race in other dinghies and smallkeel boats throughout high school, and developed another passionalong the way - coaching. Zeke attended The College of Charlestonin South Carolina where he was selected as an Honorable MentionAll-American twice, as well as an Academic All-ConferenceAll-American. Zeke was team captain his senior year, and led theCougars to their first ever ICSA Team Racing National Championship.Since graduation in 2012, Zeke has been working as Director ofSailing at the Indian Harbor Yacht Club in Greenwich, Conn., wherehe teaches beginning sailing to both kids and adults, as well ascoaches the racing members in both fleet racing and team racing.Zeke's sailing resume includes six national championship titles invarious classes and disciplines. He is currently active in thenational team racing circuit as well one-design racing in J-70s,Etchells, Flying Scots and Lightnings. Zeke spent his first seasoncoaching the Bulldogs in the spring of 2014 which culminated withwins at both the ICSA Team Racing Championship and the ICSA CoedChampionship, as well as a close second place finish in the ICSAWomen's National Championship.
