HANOVER, N.H.
- The Bulldogs completed day one at the Wilson/ITA
Regionals at Dartmouth University Friday. Yale players won five of seven
matches in which they competed.
In the first round of
the main singles draw, Yale freshmen all won their matches.
Freshman Daniel Hoffman cruised to a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Corey
Forrest of Monmouth.
Freshman John Huang pulled out a 2-6, 7-5, 6-4 decision over
Binghampton's Gilbert Wong. Freshman Marc Powers won in
straight sets 6-4, 6-1 over Mehdi Rhazali of Drexel.
In doubles action,
Hoffman and sophomore Erik Blumenkranz defeated Martin Kosut and
Keith Whittigham of St. John's 8-3. The doubles team of Powers and
senior Connor Dawson rolled to an 8-1 win over Alex Frakes and
Chris Frakes of St. Peter's.
