HANOVER, N.H. – The
Bulldogs continued their success on day two of the ITA Regionals at
Dartmouth University.
Four Yale singles players advanced to the round of 32 of the main
singles draw, and one Yale doubles team advanced to the round of 16
of the main doubles draw.
No. 11 seed senior Connor Dawson rolled to a
6-3, 6-3 victory over Jeffrey Friedman of Dartmouth to advance to
the round of 32 of the main singles draw.
Three other Yale singles matches went three
sets. No. 14 seed
Calvin Bennet pulled out a 4-6, 6-2, 7-5 victory over Matt
Himmelsbach of Marist. Freshman Marc Powers won 6-4,
2-6, 6-4 over No. 17 seed Phil Law of Penn. Freshman John Huang won his
second three-setter in two days as he pulled out a 6-7 (7), 6-1,
6-4 win over Skate Gorham.
The doubles team of Dawson and Powers rolled
to an 8-2 victory over Monmouth's Laurence Heads and Ian
Terpilowski to advance to the round of 16 in the main doubles
draw.
