Yale Has Won Three Of Last Four Games

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The last two Yale-Penn women soccer
games played at Reese Stadium have ended in scoreless ties. The
teams meet again there Saturday, and while it should be another
close game, there figures to be some goals scored. Yale has scored
12 times in its last six games, while the Quakers have eight goals
in four Ivy League games. Kickoff is slated for 4:30 p.m.
The Bulldogs (6-7-1, 1-3 Ivy) are coming off a 3-0 victory over
Holy Cross on Tuesday in their final non-league game of the season.

Jeffrey had the goals for Yale, which was playing its
first home game in nearly three weeks. Jeffrey's goal, the
first of her career, was the first by a freshman this season.
Nevertheless, head coach Rudy Meredith has been getting strong
contributions from the Class of 2014. Four freshmen –
Jeffrey, Jessica Schloth, Anna McCahon and
Shannon McSweeney – have appeared in all 14
games, and the group has started a combined 45 games.
Penn (6-6-1, 2-1-1 Ivy) has had 10 different players score goals
this season. Kerry Scalora leads the way with four, while Sarah
Friedman is third in the Ivy League with six assists. The Quakers
have posted six shutouts. Penn is coming off a scoreless tie with
Dartmouth last Saturday in Hanover. Goalkeeper Caroline Williams,
who has started all 13 games, made three saves to post the
shutout.
Yale leads the all-time series with Penn 13-4-4, including a 2-1
win in Philadelphia last year. Becky Brown and
Kristen Forster scored for the Bulldogs. Four of
the last six Yale-Penn games have gone to overtime.
