CHARLESTON, S.C. — After rain in South Carolina delayed the start of action on its spring trip, the Yale men's tennis began its slate of four matches in the Palmetto State this afternoon with a convincing 6-1 victory over Wofford. The Bulldogs won all three double matches in the win, and took five straight-set singles matches from the Terriers. The match was played in Charleston, S.C. on the campus of The Citadel.

The day started with doubles competition, as the Yale teams of Joel Samaha and Erik Blumenkranz, Calvin Bennett and Marc Powers, and Connor Dawson and John Huang all won their matches to score the doubles' point for the Bulldogs. Power, Huang, Bennett, Dawson and Samaha all won their singles contests in straight sets as well, with Daniel Hoffman dropping a tough decision to Wofford's Paul Bartholomy, 6-2, 4-6, 1-0 (7).

The Bulldogs, now winners of six straight matches, move to 8-3 in the spring season while Wofford falls to 5-6. Yale will be back in action tomorrow at the Citadel for a 10 a.m. meeting with Winthrop.
