COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Yale gymnastics team finished fourth with a score of 188.700 against top-level competition at Maryland in a meet won by No. 17 Auburn, which finished with a score of 196.225. The host Terrapins finished second with a 195.825, while George Washington placed third with a score of 192.100.

The Bulldogs began the day on the floor exercise, which is typically their strongest event, as it was at Maryland. Senior Brigitte Kivisto, the three-time defending ECAC Gymnast of the Week, led the way with a 9.825, finishing seventh. Talis Trevino placed 13th with a 9.750, a career record, and she was followed shortly by Freshman Tara Feld's 9.700. Freshman Stephanie Goldstein and junior Sherry Yang scored a 9.575 and a 9.475 respectively.

On the Vault, Yale was paced by Feld's 9.700, good enough for eighth place. Kivisto finished in 15th with a 9.600, and fellow senior Allison Mak placed 19th with a 9.500. Freshman Chelsea Savit scored a career high 9.150, and Goldstein produced a 9.150.

On the uneven parallel bars, Kivisto finished 11th with a 9.725, while freshman bars specialist Lindsay Andsager scored a 9.375m placing 17th. Feld and Goldstein scored a 9.250 and a 9.100 respectively, while Mak scored a 9.000.

On the balance beam, Mak scored a 9.800 for sixth place, Yale's highest individual event finish of the day. Right behind her in eighth place was Kivisto, who scored a 9.750. Goldstein and Yang scored a 9.450 and a 9.350 respectively.

Yale entered three gymnasts in the all-around competition, with Kivisto finishing highest with a fourth-place 38.900. Goldstein placed ninth with a 37.275, while Feld finished 10th with a 37.000.

The Bulldogs resume competition with the ECAC Championships at 12:00 p.m. next Saturday, Mar. 27. The conference championship will be hosted by Temple.
