NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Following a convincing first-place
finish at last week's Princeton Invitational, the women's golf team
returns home to host the Yale Women's Intercollegiate
Tournament this weekend at the Course at Yale, recently named the
nation's No.1 collegiate course by Golfweek magazine.
Joining the Bulldogs in the 54-hole, stroke play tournament will
be the following:
Penn
Dartmouth
Brown
Seton Hall
Boston College
Lehigh
Longwood
Central Connecticut State
Sacred Heart
Siena
St. John's
Fairleigh Dickinson
Hartford
Yale took fourth in the tournament last season as its
Ancient Eight rival Crimson finished first.
As Yale looks to avenge that loss on its home turf this weekend,
the Bulldogs will rely heavily on freshman Seo Hee Moon as
a difference maker. Moon was the only individual at last weekend's
Princeton Invitational to finish under par, making her the
tournament's individual champion, and her Saturday morning round of
68 was the tournament's low round.
Also coming off a big weekend is senior Harriet Owens-Bradley,
who took sixth last weekend. Senior Cassie Boles and
Sophomore Alex Lipa were also top 20 finishers, Boles taking
18th and Lipa 20th.
The Yale Women's Intercollegiate tees off Saturday
morning for the first of two days of competition.
