Zordani Picks up Singles Victory
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The second day of the ITA National Indoor Championship saw the Yale women's tennis team play against No. 14 Auburn in a consolation match. While the Bulldogs were defeated 4-1, junior Elizabeth Zordani won her match at No. 5 singles.
Auburn claimed the doubles point after victories at No. 2 and 3 doubles. Despite conceding matches on courts 1-3, Yale notched a point after Zordani overcame No. 112 Roos van der Zwaan 6-3, 6-4. Although Auburn had already earned the four points needed to win the match, junior Valerie Shklover was close to victory at No. 4 singles, having taken the first set 7-5.
