Yale's Eight-Match Win Streak Snapped at Princeton

Samantha Bray Led Yale with 10 Kills and Hit .375 on National Television

PRINCETON, N.J. -- The Bulldogs had their eight-match win streak snapped on Sunday afternoon at Princeton.

The Tigers defeated Yale, 3-0, in a nationally televised match on ESPNU.  Yale dropped to 8-6 overall and 4-1 in league play.

The scores of the match were 25-19, 25-14 and 25-17.  

Samantha Bray led the Bulldogs with 10 kills, a .375 hitting percentage and two solo blocks. Team captain Izzy Simqu added 10 kills, while Frances Arnautou had 32 assists. 

Yurika Boyd had a team-high 13 digs, including seven in the first set to keep the Bulldogs close.  Yale closed the gap to 23-18 before the Tigers closed out the set.

In the second set, Bray provided a kill and Bonnie Bostic followed with a solo block to tie the set at 10-10.  From there, the Tigers went on a run to finish the set. 

The Bulldogs scored the first four points of the third, capped by a solo block from Bray. DeJardin gave Yale a 9-6 before Princeton rallied to take the lead. 

Yale returns home next weekend to host Columbia on Friday and Cornell on Saturday.  The Big Red won twice this weekend to remain in first place in the Ivy League with a 5-0 mark.
