NEW YORK, N.Y. -- The Bulldogs held Columbia to a .092 hitting percentage in a 3-0 victory and completed a weekend road sweep.
A night after winning at Cornell, Yale delivered a win in the Big Apple to remain alone in second place in the Ivy League standings. The scores of tonight's match were 25-23, 25-16 and 25-19.
Kathryn Attar had nine kills, seven digs and hit .389 and Rebekah Nemeth produced double-digits in kills for the fourth straight match.
After taking the first set, Yale jumped out to a 5-1 lead in the second set after Ellis DeJardin deposited a set from Frances Arnautou. Columbia rallied to tie the set at 13-13, and Yale responded by scoring eight of the next nine points, capped by a block from Izzy Simqu.
The third set remained close until the Nemeth was a part of three straight points. It started with a kill, followed by a block assist with Samantha Bray and capped with her own solo block.
DeJardn, Simqu and Bray all had kills down the stretch to extend Yale's lead to 20-16. DeJardin, Nemeth and Simqu provided the final three points of the match.
The Bulldogs will close out the regular season next weekend with their final two home matches in conference play. Yale hosts Penn on Friday, and first-place Princeton on Saturday.Â
