NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Yale women's tennis team had a strong finish to the ECAC Indoor Championships, beating Dartmouth 4-1 to finish 5th in the tournament.
Doubles went the Bulldogs way, with Caroline Dunleavy and Raissa Lou winning 6-1 in the No. 2 spot, followed by a Jessie Gong and Samantha Martinelli 6-2 victory at No. 1. With the doubles point already awarded to the Bulldogs, the No. 3 match finished early, tied at four games all.
Dartmouth started singles by tying the dual match score at 1-1 after a straight set victory in the No. 6 match. From there, however, it was all Bulldogs. Dunleavy, Gong and Lou all cruised to straight set victories, giving the Bulldogs the 4-1 victory, none dropping more than four games in a set.
The team will take a one week break before returning to play on February 21st at the Blue Gray National Tennis Classic.
