NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Yale's first home game of 2019 couldn't have gone much better. The Bulldogs rolled to a 5-1 win over Fairfield on Sept. 1. Yale is back in the friendly confines of Reese Stadium on Thursday, hosting Fordham at 7 p.m. ESPN+ has the video. The Bulldogs then go back on the road to play at Robert Morris on Sunday at 11 a.m. That game can be seen on NECFrontRow.

Here are notes on the matchups:

The Bulldogs (2-2) are coming off a successful road trip. They knocked off Loyola, Md., 3-1 last Friday before giving No. 23 Virginia Tech all it could handle in a 2-1 loss on Sunday. Yale scored the first goal of the game midway through the first half. It was the first time the Hokies had trailed this season.

The Bulldogs feature the top two goal scorers in the Ivy League in Aerial Chavarin (four goals) and first year Ellery Winkler (three goals).

Noelle Higginson has been credited with the game-winning goal in both of Yale's victories.

The Bulldogs have outscored their opponents 7-3 in the first half.

Yale's 10 goals in four games are the second most in the Ivy League, trailing only Dartmouth, which has scored 11 goals.

HISTORY LESSONS

Yale and Fordham met for the first time last year, a 1-0 double overtime Bulldog victory in the Bronx.

Last year was also the first meeting between Yale and Robert Morris. Higginson and Chavarin scored to lead the Bulldogs to a 2-1 win at Reese Stadium.

SCOUTING FORDHAM

The Rams (1-4-1) are coming off a scoreless tie with Lehigh on Sunday. Yale is the second Ivy League opponent for Fordham, which fell 3-1 to Columbia on Sept. 5. Fordham opened the season with a 3-1 loss to No. 10 Tennessee in Knoxville. Michelle Alozie, a 2019 Yale graduate, came off the bench for the Vols and had one shot in the game. Alozie is playing as a graduate transfer for Tennessee. Four different players have scored one goal for Fordham.

SCOUTING ROBERT MORRIS

The Colonials (1-3-1) play at Ohio on Friday afternoon before returning home to host the Bulldogs. Sheridan Reid has scored three of Robert Morris's six goals. The Colonials have played two overtime games. Their victory came at home over Canisius.
