The Yale men's tennis team competed against other Ivy League and non-conference teams this past weekend both at home and at Princeton, with the team offering plenty of promise of the remainder of the season after many strong performances. The Bulldogs will take the court next in two weeks at the annual Dartmouth Invitational.
 
Yale continued its dominance on the doubles court from last season at the outset, with wins over Miami and Columbia as well as a tightly contested match against Harvard. The established duo of senior captain Dylan King and sophomore Michael Sun look to be competing near full force, while junior Cody Lin and sophomore Arnav Dhingra went undefeated as a team over the weekend.
 
In singles play, Sun, along with senior Ryan Cheng and first-year Robby Shymansky got off to a thundering start with victories over Penn State, Texas, and Michigan State, respectively. After losing a well-fought match against Kentucky, King was quick to bounce back with smooth wins over both UPenn and Dartmouth. At home, the Yalies battled through many three-set matches, notably first-year Louis Siegler's triumph over BU in the third-set tiebreak after saving 5 match points. These competitive matches will prove to be crucial for the rest of the fall matches and provide some serious momentum heading into the next competition.
