NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- Yale opened the Ivy League season with a win and continued its dominance at home with a 3-0 victory over Brown on Saturday evening.
Yale has won five in a row and improved to 5-5 on the season. The Bulldogs are 4-0 at home this season after going 10-0 in 2018.
The scores of the match were 25-18, 25-11 and 26 and 24.
Ellis DeJardin, the reigning conference rookie of the year, posted a double-double with 13 kills and 11 digs to lead the way for Yale. Kathryn Attar smashed 10 kills, added nine digs and hit .364.
The Bulldogs took control of the match by hitting .394 as a team in the first set.
Attar notched five kills in the opener without an error and hit .625. Frances Arnautou dished out 12 assists in the first, and finished with 31 assists and six digs for the match.
Yale also controlled the net.
The Bulldogs had nine total team blocks, including two solo blocks -- one each from Attar and Samantha Bray. Izzy Simqu had a match-high five blocks.
The home stand continues next weekend for the Bulldogs with home matches against Harvard and Dartmouth.
