NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Yale women's tennis team started out their spring season with a solid 6-1 win over St. John's earlier on Saturday afternoon.Â
The Bulldogs began the day with a pair of excellent doubles wins.

Samantha Martinelli showed no rust in a 6-3 win out of the No. 1 spot.
Caroline Dunleavy and
Rhea Shrivastava followed that up with a 6-1 win in No. 3 doubles to clinch the first point.Â
The team was equally dominant in singles, winning five of their six singles matches.
Chelsea Kung, playing out of the No. 2 spot for the first time ever, lost three games en route to a straight sets victory. She was joined by Dunleavy, Gong,
Rena Lin and
Raissa Lou, all of whom won without dropping a set.Â
The Bulldogs jump back into action against Quinnipiac next Saturday.Â
