SEATTLE -- Two former Yale student-athletes are celebrating another WNBA championship as co-owners of the Seattle Storm. Lisa Brummel '81 and Ginny Gilder '79, who co-own the Storm alongside fellow Seattle businesswoman Dawn Trudeau, have now seen Seattle win three titles during their time as owners (four overall) after Tuesday night's 92-59 win vs. Las Vegas gave the team a 3-0 series win. 
 
Seattle tied for the best record in the WNBA in the regular season, going 18-4. The entire season was played at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla.  The Storm swept Minnesota 3-0 in the semifinals to advance to the championship, then swept Las Vegas -- the No. 1 seed -- for the title. The Storm's four titles (2004, 2010, 2018, 2020) tie them with the Houston Comets and the Minnesota Lynx for the most championships in WNBA history. 
 
Brummel, who earned Yale's George H.W. Bush Lifetime of Leadership Award in 2003, was a third team Academic All-American and four-sport athlete at Yale -- basketball, softball, track and field and volleyball. She was the women's basketball Team MVP and an All-Ivy League selection in each of her four seasons, helping the Bulldogs win the 1979 Ivy championship. Brummel scored 1,361 points in her career and was a member of the Legends of Ivy League Basketball Class of 2018. 
 
Brummel was most recently the executive vice president for human resources at Microsoft until her retirement in 2014. She had been with Microsoft since 1989.
 
Gilder, who earned Yale's George H.W. Bush '48 Lifetime of Leadership Award in 2015, was a three time All-Ivy League selection for the Yale women's crew team and helped the Bulldogs win three Ivy titles. She was named to the U.S. Olympic teams in 1980 and 1984, winning silver in the quadruple sculls in 1984. She also earned a bronze medal at the 1983 World Championships in the single. In 2004, she received the NCAA Silver Anniversary Award and in 2015 she received the US Rowing Association Jack Kelly Award.

Gilder is CEO of the Gilder family investment office (which she founded in 2004) and president of one of her family's philanthropic entities, the Starfish Group. She is the author of the memoir Course Correction: A Story of Rowing and Resilience in the Wake of Title IX.

Brummel, Gilder and Trudeau formed Force 10 Hoops LLC and bought the Storm in 2008.
