Game Notes for YALE
The Bulldogs just earned three points on the road against a pair of teams they were trying to catch in the ECAC standings. This weekend they have a similar opportunity with No. 2 ranked Cornell and Colgate coming to the Whale on senior weekend as teams are trying to secure home ice playoff series. Friday night includes a 50/50 raffle with proceeds benefitting the Mandi Schwartz Foundation, while Saturday is Senior Night. Both 7 p.m. puck drops are on ESPN+ and Stretch Internet (international).
BULLDOGS
Yale earned a 4-4 OT tie at Harvard and then a 4-3 win at Dartmouth last weekend as sophomore winger
Justin Pearson (12-9-21) scored half the goals. The Nashua, N.H., native has five goals and six points over his last three and nine goals over the last 10 games, while his seven power-play tallies are fifth best in the nation. Another second-year forward,
Curtis Hall, is seventh in Division I for goals per game (.67) and fifth in game-winners with four. This is the last home regular season weekend for nine seniors: F

BIG RED
Cornell (19-2-4, 14-2-2), which began a five-game win streak after falling 5-0 at Quinnipiac on Jan. 31 and stis in a first-place tie with Clarkson at 30 points, won 5-2 and 4-2 at home last week against Union and RPI. Defense has been a major factor in the success for the Big Red this winter. They have allowed just 33 goals in 18 conference games, a 1.83 average.
RAIDERS
Colgate (10-14-6, 8-7-3), in fifth place but just a point ahead of Yale, has one win in its last five outings, a 4-0 decision with Union on Feb. 15. The Raiders own wins over Quinnipiac, Harvard and UMass-Lowell and have outscored ECAC opponents on the road, 24-22.
SERIES
The Big Red have an 86-63-8 lead over the Elis since the first meeting in 1901-02 and beat Yale 6-2 in November. The Bulldogs, with wins in four of the last five, have a 52-50-6 edge in the Colgate series which began in 1916-17. The Raiders won 2-1 on Nov. 8.
