Yale (1-1, 0-0 Ivy League) dropped a 12-9 decision to Albany last Saturday at Reese Stadium. First-year midfielder
Bri Carrasquillo delivered nine draw controls and four goals, but the Great Danes rallied from an 8-4 halftime deficit for the win. Sophomore goalie
Clare Boone (Stewartstown, Pa.) made a career-high 11 saves.
Big Difference in Free Positions
Yale is shooting .583 (7-for-12) on free position attempts. The Bulldogs' opponents have combined to shoot .125 (1-for-8). Junior midfielder
Olivia Markert (Centreville, Va.) leads Yale in free position goals with three on four shots.
Vaughn Does It All

Payton Vaughn (Concord, Mass.) has proven to be one of the most productive Bulldogs in a variety of ways in the first two games. She is the only player with at least three goals, ground balls, caused turnovers and draw controls. She has three of each, with the exception of draw controls (five).

Ana Dieroff (Fayetteville, N.Y.) (5-3-8) are tied for the team lead in points. Markert scored five goals in the first game and three in the second.
Looking Back on a Record
The last time Yale played Hartford -- Feb. 26, 2019 -- the Bulldogs came away with an 18-4 win and
Izzy Nixon '19 came away with a school record. Nixon tied the Ivy League record with 19 draw controls, including 12 in the first half. She also scored two goals.
Scouting Hartford
Hartford (0-3, 0-0 America East) is in its third season as a varsity program. The Hawks' 36 person roster includes only one senior. Midfielder Shannon Tuozzo, one of 13 freshmen, leads the team in draw controls with 14 and is tied for the team lead in goals with four.
