Lyon Named to ECAC All-Decade Team

Goalie with All the School Records

ALBANY, N.Y. - Alex Lyon '17 was an All-American goalie who twice earned the Ken Dryden Award for ECAC Hockey goalie of the year. That certainly helped him make ECAC Hockey's All-Decade Team, which was released today.
 
He owns Yale's career record for goals against average (1.88) and save percentage (.933) while notching a program best 50 wins in just three seasons. Lyon also owns the season records for both, including a 1.62 and a .939 in 2014-15.
 
The Baudette, Minn., native and fourth generation Yalie was a two-time first-team All-American who earned first-team All-ECAC twice and was a finalist for the Mike Richter Award as the nation's top netminder. He was also among the final 10 in the balloting for the Hobey Baker Award.
 
Lyon is a fifth-year pro player who has played three games for the Philadelphia Flyers this season. He has played 28 with the affiliate in Lehigh Valley and has a 2.64 goals against with a .913 save percentage. The former Bulldog has 16 career games in the net for Philadelphia.
