Eight different players scored and three had hat tricks for Yale (2-1, 0-0 Ivy League) in a 17-10 win over Hartford at Al-Marzook Field this past Tuesday. First year midfielder Bri Carrasquillo (Alpharetta, Ga.) led the way with five goals, while junior midfielder Olivia Markert (Centreville, Va.) and junior attacker Isabelle Webster (Towson, Md.) had three each. Sophomore midfielder Payton Vaughn (Concord, Mass.) added a team-high six draw controls and a pair of ground balls.

Fast Starts
Yale has outscored its opponents 25-10 in the first half this season.

Shooting More
Yale is averaging 40.7 shots per game, a 43 percent increase over last season's average (28.5).

Clearly One of the Best
Yale is 15th in the nation in clearing percentage (.920). Brown (.932) is the only Ivy team with a better clearing percentage.

A Hat Trick Streak for Markert
Junior midfielder Olivia Markert (Centreville, Ga.) had a remarkable streak of 24 games with a point earlier in her career. She now has started the 2020 season with another type of streak -- she has a hat trick in all three games, starting with a five-goal effort in the season opener. She leads Yale in goals and points (11-2-13).

Ground Balls and Points for Penoyer
Sophomore attacker Olivia Penoyer (Manlius, N.Y.) had seven ground balls Tuesday at Hartford, the most by a Yale player this season. Penoyer leads the team in ground balls with 11 and is fourth in points (4-3-7).

Carrasquillo's Instant Impact
First year midfielder Bri Carrasquillo (Alpharetta, Ga.) is seventh in the nation in draw controls per game (8.00). She is second on the team in goals with nine, all of which have come in the last two games, and leads the team in shooting percentage (.474).

Hartzell Makes the Most of Her Comeback
Junior attacker Amanda Hartzell (Rye, N.Y.) made the most of her Yale debut this past Tuesday. Having missed the first two years of her career due to injury, Hartzell came on in the second half of the game at Hartford and scored her first career goal with 6:22 to play. It came after she drew a foul and earned a free position shot. Hartzell also had three ground balls in the game.

Scouting No. 12 Penn
No. 12 Penn (3-0, 0-0 Ivy League) has allowed an average of just nine goals per game, limiting its opponents to a .365 shooting percentage. The Quakers have won or shared the Ivy League title 11 times in the past 13 seasons. Attacker Gabby Rosenzweig, an All-American in 2018 and 2019, leads the team in scoring (6-9-15).
