First Day of Ivy League Round-Robins Complete

Bulldogs Open With 14-13 Victory Over Penn

On the first day of the Ivy League Round-Robins at Harvard, the Yale women's fencing team edged Penn 14-13, and fell to Princeton 19-8, Cornell 15-12 and Harvard 19-8.

In the first round victory over the Quakers, the saber and epee squads squads both won 5-4, and the foil squad just barely lost 5-4. In the remaining three bouts Yale got victories from the saber squad against Cornell and the epee squad against Harvard.

Individually, in saber, Sydney Hirsch stands in fifth place with an 8-4 record. Sophia Zhuang and Lauren Kim stand in 16th and 17th place respectively. In foil, Emme Zhou, Camille Pham and Anna Zhou stand in 12th, 14th, and 16th place respectively. In epee, Shirley Wang is tied for seventh place, with Joy Ma following immediately behind in 9th place and Michelle Nam in 13th place. 

On Sunday, the Bulldogs will face off against Brown and Columbia.
