NEW YORK, N.Y. – In a memorable final of the ECAC Indoor Championship, the Yale women's tennis team suffered a heartbreaking 4-3 loss to Columbia. The outcome was decided in the third set of the last match on the court.

The Bulldogs captured the doubles point with a dominant 6-1 victory from the No. 3 ranked duo of
Samantha Martinelli and
Jessie Gong at the No. 1 position and a 6-3 win from
Caroline Dunleavy and
Rhea Shrivastava at No. 3.

Four of the six singles matches went three sets.
Rena Lin rallied for a 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 4.
Chelsea Kung also was victorious for the Bulldogs, winning 7-6, 6-2 at No. 2 singles.

The deciding match came at No. 5 singles where Columbia's Shivani Amineni edged Yale's
Raissa Lou 1-6, 7-6, 6-4.

The full match between the two teams lasted nearly four hours.
