Yale (3-2, 1-1 Ivy League) rallied for an 11-10 win vs. Brown at Reese Stadium last Saturday. The Bulldogs scored the final three goals of the game, including the game-winner by first-year midfielder
Anna Vetsch (Marcellus, N.Y.) with 1:35 left. Sophomore goalkeeper
Clare Boone (Stewartstown, Pa.) made 12 saves, while sophomore attacker
Olivia Penoyer (Manlius, N.Y.) had three goals and four assists. Yale has now won eight of its last nine games vs. Brown.

Amelia Drake (Morristown, N.J.), are averaging 10.6 saves per game -- best in the Ivy League. Penn (10.4) and Princeton (10.0) are the only other schools averaging double-digits. The Bulldogs also have the second-best save percentage in the league (.491). Boone is 10th nationally in save percentage (.520, best in the Ivy League).
Still in Control
Yale continues to lead the nation in fewest turnovers per game (10.0). The Bulldogs are also second nationally in clearing percentage (.941), trailing only Notre Dame (.943).
Among Ivy's Best Offensively
Yale has two players in the top 10 in the Ivy League in goals per game -- junior midfielder
Olivia Markert (Centreville, Va.) (8th, 2.8) and first-year midfielder
Bri Carrasquillo (t-9th, 2.6). Additionally, sophomore attacker
Olivia Penoyer (Manlius, N.Y.) is sixth in the league in assists per game (1.4).
Vaughn's Various Contributions
Sophomore midfielder
Payton Vaughn (Concord, Mass.) leads Yale in caused turnovers (six), is second in draw controls (13) and is tied for second in ground balls (seven). She also is tied for fifth in goals with five. She has started all 20 games of her career.
Scouting Fresno State
Fresno State (2-5, 0-0 MPSF) has dropped four games in a row, allowing at least 18 goals each time. The last time the Bulldogs faced an Ivy League team was Mar. 31, 2019, a 19-13 loss to Brown. Kara Concheck, a former Fresno State player, is serving as the team's interim head coach after Jessica Giglio stepped down in January. Attacker Sydney Skalstad was the 2019 MPSF Rookie of the Year and is one of six all-conference returnees for the Bulldogs. She leads the team in goals with 25 and draw controls with 29.
Scouting UC Davis
UC Davis (3-2, 0-0 MPSF), which hosts George Mason Wednesday, has already taken on a pair of 2019 NCAA Tournament teams this season. The Aggies lost 18-10 at Stanford Feb. 22 and beat Georgetown 15-14 this past Sunday. They are in their third season under Suzanne Isidor, a two-time MPSF Coach of the Year. Midfielder Maddie Myers leads the team in scoring (15-3-18) and is shooting .455.
Yale assistant coach
Colleen Smith was an assistant at UC Davis in 2015-16, helping the Aggies earn their first trip to the MPSF tournament in six years and their first winning record in conference play since 2000.
