CHARLESTON, S.C. --
Brian Ronai smacked his team-leading third homer in a 10-4 loss against Ball State on Friday afternoon.
Carson Swank, the reigning Ivy League Rookie of the Week, added a two-run single and raised his team-leading batting average to .407.Â

Cal Christofori and Ronai each had two hits to pace the Bulldogs.Â
Ball State scored three in the first and Yale answered with two in the third.
AJ Gaich started the rally with a one-out single. Hegeman followed with a double to move Gaich to third.Â
Alex Stiegler started for the Bulldogs and went the first seven innings for his longest outing of the season. He struck out four and allowed four earned runs.
Hague singled to open the bottom of the ninth and Ronai came up next to blast a homer to right center. Ronai is now hitting .400 and leads the team with 20 total bases.
Yale returns to the field tomorrow at 1 p.m. to face Sacred Heart in Charleston. Â
