No Mandatory Yale Athletics Events Held on Election Day

Mandatory games, practices or team meetings will not take place on November 3

NEW HAVEN, Conn. –Yale University Athletics announced Friday that all 35 of its varsity programs will cancel mandatory team activities on Tuesday, November 3, to allow all student-athletes, coaches and staffs to participate in Election Day.
 
Yale Athletics has picked up the baton from Georgia Tech which was the first university athletic department to announce no games or mandatory team activities for its in-season programs.
 
No Yale games, contests or matches are scheduled for Election Day and no Eli teams will have mandatory practices or meetings that day. That includes 20 Bulldog teams that are in season: men's & women's basketball, heavyweight crew, lightweight crew, men's & women's cross country, field hockey, football, men's & women's golf, men's & women's ice hockey, women's rowing, coed & women's sailing, men's & women's soccer, men's & women's tennis and volleyball; in addition to out of season teams: baseball, gymnastics men's & women's fencing, men's & women's lacrosse, softball, men's & women's squash, men's & women's swimming & diving and indoor and outdoor men's & women's track & field.

Yale will assist student-athletes with voting procedures including registration, online forms and absentee ballots. Yale Athletics encourages everyone to register and vote on Election Day.
 

CONNECTICUT ELECTION VOTER REGISTRATION INFORMATION
 
New Primary Election Date: August 11, 2020
General Election Deadline: October 27, 2020
Election Day: November 3, 2020
   
In Person Registration: 
In person registration take place seven days before election day. If you miss the deadline, you can also register at a designated Election Day Registration location in your town on Election Day
 
Mail Registration:
