NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Yale Athletics is proud to announce the opening of the Tsai Lacrosse Field House thanks to the generosity of distinguished alumni and former men's lacrosse player
Joseph C. Tsai '86, '90 J.D., and his wife,
Clara Wu Tsai.
"We are deeply grateful to Joe and Clara for their extraordinary generosity and commitment to supporting our student-athletes," said Yale University President
Peter Salovey '86 Ph.D. "They are champions of Yale's mission to educate aspiring leaders to serve all sectors of society worldwide, and they understand that this fundamental purpose of our university is reinforced by our athletics program."
This state-of-the-art, 34,800 square-foot facility, is home of the men's & women's lacrosse and men's & women's soccer programs. The Tsai Lacrosse Field House features office spaces, locker rooms, a retractable seat film room inside the team center and a VIP viewing area. The building also includes spaces for athletic medicine, hydrotherapy, strength & conditioning and equipment services.
The new structure is located on the east end zone of Reese Stadium along Central Avenue and received the USA Green Building Council's LEED Gold certification for sustainability.

The field house boasts a 6,610 square-foot strength & conditioning center. This area features Sorinex custom racks and Black Iron Strength dumbbells that have antimicrobial copper CuLEAN by CuVerro handles which kills 99.0% of all germs.
The field house contains a 2,000 square-foot athletic medicine space, which includes hydrotherapy pools, an aquatic treadmill, physician's office and diagnostics space with x-ray and DEXA scan equipment.

"So many people have come before us to uphold this standard, and I hope that when our student-athletes come into the building, they will always remember the values of sacrifice, improvement and being as ONE: Only Need Everybody."
The facility opened for student-athletes, coaches and staff members on Monday, May 31, 2021. The official opening and formal ribbon cutting ceremony has been postponed to the Spring of 2022.
