Five Bulldogs Skating in PHF This Year

Boston, Connecticut and Toronto have Yalies

BOSTON, Mass. – Five Yale graduates will skate in the new Premier Hockey Federation this winter for three different teams. The PHF, formerly the National Women's Hockey League, begins play Nov. 6 with six teams hoping to raise the Isobel Cup in April.
 
Mallory Souliotis '17 (Boston Pride), Taylor Marchin '17 (Connecticut Whale), Emma Vlasic '19 (Connecticut), Saroya Tinker '20 (Toronto Six) and Tera Hofmann '20 (Toronto Six) are carrying the flag for the Bulldogs.
 
Souliotis, who won the Isobel Cup with the 2020-21 Pride, has played four seasons on the blueline and was the recipient of the 2019 and 2021 NWHL Foundation Awards.

Vlasic, Yale's 2018-19 captain, is in her third season with the Whale and has been one of their top scorers and an NWHL All-Star Game pick at forward.

Marchin skated in the Canadian Women's Hockey League for a season before joining the Whale the last three winters, while Tinker and Hofmann played for the Metropolitan Riveters last season before joining Toronto this year.
 
Tinker was the recipient of the 2021 NWHL's Denna Laing Award exemplifying the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship, and dedication to her sport.
