NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Yale got contributions galore in earning an important Ivy League victory. Five Bulldogs had double-digit kills and three Bulldogs had double-digit digs in a 3-1 victory over Dartmouth at Lee Amphitheater.
Tiffany Pedersen-Henry led the way on the attack with 17 kills.
Bonnie Bostic added 13,
Fatima Samb contributed 11 and
Kathryn Attar and
Carly Diehl each had 10.
Maile Somera paced the Bulldogs with 23 digs, Diehl had 15 and
Ellis Dejardin added 12.
Diehl also contributed 52 assists.
The Bulldogs (10-4, 3-2 Ivy) have won three of their last four matches. The only setback was a heartbreaking five-set loss to Harvard on Friday.
Yale was dominant in the first set, hitting .387 while banging 16 kills in a 25-15 win.
The Big Green (8-6, 0-5 Ivy) rebounded to take set two 25-22.
The Bulldogs trailed 10-7 midway through the third set but seized control with a 13-7 run on their way to a 25-20 win.
Yale closed out the match by winning four the last six points to take the fourth set 25-22. Pedersen-Henry capped the win with a kill, setting off a celebration on the Yale bench.
The Bulldogs, who have played their first five Ivy League matches in the friendly confines of Lee Amphitheater, are on the road next weekend, facing Princeton on Friday at 7 p.m. and Penn on Saturday at 5 p.m.
