NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Yale's tour of the Northeast continues on Friday. Tip off at Patrick Gymnasium is slated for 4 p.m. and ESPN3 has the video.
Â
Yale and Vermont have been two of the most successful programs in New England in recent years. Both are ranked in the latest CollegeInsider Mid Major Top 25 – Yale is No. 20, UVM is No. 22. Over the last six seasons, the Bulldogs have a remarkable 63-21 Ivy League record. During that stretch, they have won four league titles and earned three NCAA Tournament berths, including notching the first NCAA victory in school history.
Â
The Catamounts have boasted a 120-34 record since the start of 2016-17. UVM has captured three America East titles in the last five seasons and has grabbed at least a share of the regular season title in each of those seasons.
Â
The Bulldogs rebounded well from last Sunday's loss at Seton Hall to manhandle Siena 82-54 at the Times Union Center.
Azar Swain paced the offense with 23 points, including the 1,000th of his outstanding career. Swain became the 31st Bulldog to score 1,000 points. The next milestone ahead for Swain is Yale's all-time three-pointers made record. He enters Friday with 207 career treys, 22 fewer than Ed Petersen's all-time Yale record.
Â
Swain leads the team in scoring at 16.5 ppg., one of three Bulldogs averaging double figures.
Matthue Cotton (13.3 ppg.) and
Jalen Gabbidon (12.3 ppg.) are the others. Gabbidon, who posted his first career double-double at Seton Hall, is the team's top rebounder (6.3 rpg.).
Â
Yale is in the midst of five straight games away from home. Following the trip to UVM, the Bulldogs head to Florida next week for the Rocket Mortgage Fort Myers Tip Off. Yale's next home game is Nov. 28 vs. Stony Brook at 1 p.m.
