Trey Phills '19, who appeared in 107 games and scored more than 700 points for the Bulldogs, is on the Houston Rockets roster for NBA Summer League 2021. The league runs from August 8-17 at the Thomas & Mack Center and Cox Pavilion on the campus of the University of Nevada Las Vegas.
 
Phills, who has been a member of the Greensboro Swarm of the NBA G League, enjoyed an outstanding career at Yale. He earned second team All-Ivy recognition as a junior after finishing fifth in the Ivy League in field goal percentage and averaging 13.4 points and 6.1 rebounds in 14 Ivy games. In addition, he was a three-time recipient of the George McReynolds Award as the team's top defender. The Bulldogs made two NCAA Tournament appearances in his career.
 
Phills also made a big impact off the court. He was the male recipient of Yale's Ford Student-Athlete Community Outreach Award, presented at the annual Senior Student-Athlete Reception during graduation weekend, was a 2018-19 Senior CLASS Award candidate and was named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches 2019 Give Back Team, which recognized 10 men's student-athletes from across the nation for their outstanding community service efforts.
 
The NBA Summer League features all 30 NBA teams playing five games each. The two teams with the best records after four games meet in the championship game on Aug. 17. The 28 teams that do not play in the championship game will play a fifth game on Aug. 16 or 17.
