NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale volleyball team opened the season in impressive fashion. The Bulldogs cruised to a 3-0 (25-20, 25-18, 25-13) victory over Hartford in the second match of the Yale Invitational.
Kathryn Attar had 13 digs and 10 kills to pace the Bulldogs, who will return to the court to face Syracuse on Friday night at 7:30 p.m. in their second match of the day.
First-year
Gigi Barr added six kills, and
Renee Shultz contributed 20 assists, while
Carly Diehl had 11 assists.
The toughest set was the first, which was tied at 13 before the Bulldogs won seven of the next nine points.
The second set was also tied midway through before Yale pulled away.
The Bulldogs raced out to a commanding 10-3 lead in the third set.
Syracuse beat Quinnipiac 3-0 in the first match of the day.
